KATHMANDU, November 17, 2018: The 10th National Human Rights Magna Meet-2018 will be taking place in the Kathmandu along with all seven provinces from December 8, 2018.
As per the organizer, National Human Rights Commission, this is a seven-day event that is being arranged with a motive to contribute towards the protection and promotion of human rights, peace and democracy among others in the country. The Magna Meet Coordinator, Naren Khatiwada said, ” There will be intense deliberations and dialogues on a range of human rights issues such as peace, security and democracy among others in the event.”
This year, the event will be held in all seven provinces, unlike in the past when such events were organized in Kathmandu and some districts only . The event will be co-organised by the Youth Advocacy Nepal and coordinated by Fatima Foundation and Pourakhi Nepal. There will be around 250 human rights organisations as participants in the event.
The International Human Rights Day is celebrated on December 10 annually to honor issuance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. On the other hand, Nepal has been organizing National Magna Meet since 2009.
