Kathmandu, March 4, 2019: A 13-year old boy from Hanumajipet village in Telangana’s Rajanna Sircilla district has come up with an invention of a paddy-filling machine. This device will help the dropping of paddy in gunny bags for farmers.
Marripalli Abhishek is a class 8 student studying in a local Zilla Parisheth High School. His father, Laxmirajan migrated to Dubai six months back looking for a job after failing to increase cultivation in his small land to enhance income.
After seeing his mother, Rajavva, a labourer, struggling to fill gunny bags with paddy at Indira Kranthi Patham paddy purchasing center, he came with an idea to invent the machine that will help his mother to fill gunny bags at ease.
After conceptualising the idea, he shared it with his class teacher Venkatesham who backed him and promised that he will help him to finalise his design. The machine is designed to work in place of three people. It requires two wheels, iron sheet, few iron pipes rods, weighing and stitching machines.
The machine is very portable as it can be carried from one place to another at ease. The machine costs around Rs 5,000. Kalvakutla Chandrashekar Rao, TRS party president has acknowledged the young talent and greeted him with a cheque of Rs 1,16,000. He further assured him that he will bear all the education expenditure of Abhishek.
Abhishek told ANI that the paddy filling machine can be helpful for the farmers and laborers in the Indira Kranthi Patham paddy purchasing center. He further added that while four people remain engaged in filling up one gunny bag, this machine can do the job of three persons at a time.
Talking about his future plans, he said that if the government support him then he is ready to invent more machines in future.
