Kathmandu, November 16, 2016: Embassy of India celebrated the 141st Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel by organizing a screening of a documentary on the life of Sardar Patel and a talk programme today in Kathmandu. Prof. Dr. Krishna Hachhethu, a renowned political analyst and Professor of Political Science at Tribhuvan University gave a key-note speech on the occasion.
The Documentary showed the contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in laying the foundation of an independent and unified India. It also threw light on Sardar Patelâ€™s journey of life. Patel was a social leader who played a leading role in the Indiaâ€™s struggle for independence and guided its integration into a unified, independent nation. Prof. Hachhethu talked about the outstanding contribution made by Sardar Patel in State building and Governance building in India.
Giving concluding remarks, Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Ranjit Rae talked about the contribution of Sardar Patel in Governance building, especially in the development of Indian bureaucracy to its present situation. He also talked about Patel’s efforts in unification of India immediately after the independence.
More than 100 people from different walks of life attended the programme.
