150 Households To Be Constructed By Mechinagar Folk


May 27, 2015: 150 households are to be constructed by Mechi Chamber of Commerce and Industry for quake survivors in the worst-hit district of the April 25 trembler, Sindhupalchowk.

Chairperson of Mechinagar Chapter of Chamber of Commerce and Campaign Coordinator Bijaya Dalmiya said that the Total cost for the construction would be Rs 2.25 million through ‘Mechi Campaign’ initiated by Mechinagar folks with the assistance of donors.He added that in collaboration with the Sindhupalchowk District Administration Office the houses would be constructed in the worst-hit area where more than 50 volunteers would be mobilized for this.

He further added that the relief aid is being raised from India, Bhutan and Bangladesh, among other countries, and Rs 700,000 out of the relief collected was handed over to Jhapa District Natural Disaster Relief Committee.And also mentioned that the relief materials worth Rs 7 million have been distributed so far to six quake-hit areas.

As per the source, the construction of shelter for the quake survivors would begin from next week.
