16-Day Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Kicks Off

Chitwan, Nov 25,2014: A sixteen-day campaign against gender-based violence has kicked off in Chitwan district.

Minister for Women and Children Nilam KC inaugurated the campaign against gender-based discriminations beginning from Tuesday, Various 19 organizations pitching for the rights of women are on the forefront of the campaign.

Speaking at the programme Minister KC called on one and all to come up with commitment to end up gender-based violence from every house.

Noting that discrimination is prevailing within the political parties, social development organizations and even government bodies, she stressed the need of participation of the suppressed group was necessary to check such malpractice in the society.

Similarly, representatives of the local political parties stressed on the need to work in collaboration to put an end to gender-based violence.

Likewise, rights activists expressed their concern over growing incidents of gender-based violence in society and stressed the need to put effective measures to prevent such anti-social activities.
