18 LAWMAKERS ARE APPOINTED BY GOVERNMENT

Kathmandu, Aug. 29: 18 lawmakers out of 26 are appointed today at the meeting of the Council of Ministers in the Constituent Assembly (CA).

 The government decision comes nearly nine months after the CA elections held on November 19, 2013.

Minister for Information and Communications Dr Minendra Rijal said that Radheshyam Adhikari, Shiva Bahadur Khadka, Pushkar Acharya, Resham Baniya, Sakaldev Sukhiyar, Rukmini Koirala, Surendra Dev Das Urab, Umesh Shrestha, Anil Kumar Rungata, Udaya Nepali Shrestha, Agni Kharel, Gagna Dangi, Mira Dhuju, Pemba Bote, Bartaman Dhimal, Naresh Kharel, Dr Rajan Bhattarai and Ganesh Thapa were appointed.

“Eight other lawmakers would be appointed soon”, said Dr Rijal.

Likewise, the bureau meeting decided to provide Rs 100,000 each to the families of the deceased persons in the recent floods and landslides. The amount for performing ceremonies after the death would also be given.

Likewise, the government has decided to provide 70 medicines for free to the people. Earlier, 40 medicines were distributed to the people for free.

Furthermore, Nepali cricketers, coaches and officials of the U-16 Premier League Cricket Champion would be given Rs 900,000.

The government also appointed Sunita Singh Thakuri, Bijaya Kumar Singh Danuwar, Phurwa Tamang and Nagendra Prasad Yadav as the members of the President Chure Tarai-Madhesh Conservation Development Committee.

The cabinet meeting also appointed Mridula Koirala as the Public Relations Advisor (non-residential) of the Prime Minister.

Likewise, the government has given a nod to the Asian Development Bank to issue loan upto Rs 50 billion for the investment in hydropower sector.
