Lamjung, June 24: The District Education Committee Lamjung in a meeting on Tuesday decided to merge 20 community schools in Lamjung.
District Education Officer Surendra Raj Parajuli said that two schools in the nearest neighbourhood are being mergedand the schools which are being merged are those not fulfilling the criteria of minimum number of students including at least 10 for running Grade 1 to 3 classes and 20 for those running classes from Grade 1 to 5. Of the total 372 community schools, twenty are being merged.
Further more, the Committee Chair and Local Development Officer Bishnu Prasad Sharma said that since the schools did not have students at all in the concerned Grade or had very few students the grade level of 10 other community schools in the district has been decreased.
