26 Hectares Public Land Is Being Prepared To Make Forest

Sarlahi, June 28, 2015: 26 hectares public land is being prepared to make forest by the District Forest Office, Sarlahi. Total of the 125,948 hectares land, forest area covers 29,362 hectares in Sarhali district.

The plants of different species would be planted in five different VDCs, District Forest Officer Kedar Dahal said. He added that six hectares of land each in Kisanpur, Kabilasi and Basantapur VDCs and four hectares each in Bela and Brahmapur VDCs would be made forest areas.

He further mentioned that for afforestation to increase the forest areas the Office could not find sufficient public land.12 VDCs of six constituencies that lack public forests in the district for planting in the private land would be distributed as many as 20,500 saplings, Dahal further added. Delayed rainfall has slightly affected the afforestation job as soon rainfall begins then the work will immediately be started, Dahal said.
