Pangro Nepal concludes seventh edition of Himalayan Outdoor Festival

Kathmandu, February 20, 2018: Pangro Nepal has successfully concluded the seventh edition of Himalayan Outdoor Festival on February 18, 2018, at  Hattiban Hills, Pharping.

The motive of the three-day event which commenced from February 16, 2018, was to contribute certain part of the revenue generated from the race registration fee to running club in Sindhupalchowk and to raise funds to represent Nepal at World Bicycle Forum, 2018 in Peru. If sufficient fund will be raised for the World Bicycle Forum, Sahil Shrestha, the founder president of Cycle City Network Nepal, will be participating in the event.

The Himalayan Outdoor Festival included interactive exhibitions, discussions about pressing environmental issues, demo areas, vendors, a trade fair, live music, adventure films, and mountain lifestyle parties. The three-day festival welcomed outdoor athletes from all over the world including Nepal to participate in three main sports: trail running, rock climbing, and mountain biking. A number of other activities including dyno competition, slackline competition, ice-axe pull-up, acrobatic paragliding show, flying fox, zip lines, rappelling, mud run, and auto expo also took place during the event.

The festival also conducted a Ride competition: Downhill Individual (DHI), Cross Country Olympic(XCO), Night Uphill, Rock climbing competition: Bouldering, Dyno, Natural Rock and Running competition: 5K, 10K+, 20K +, 2K(U-13), Night Uphill.

Pangro is an organization involved in conducting outdoor events in Kathmandu with the main focus being mountain biking. It has been actively involved in the event management of Himalayan Outdoor Festival since 2013 and Godavari Running Festival since 2014. Annually more than 2500 people come to witness the festival with the aim of celebrating human-powered adventure sports, live music and Himalayan lifestyle.
