It may be noted that the Sub-metropolis has formed the Fewa Lake Conservation and Management Office constituted with the objective of remove old structures that affects the beauty of lake and ban any new structures in the lake area as per the criteria.

“We have started collecting data of physical structures that are illegally constructed in the lakeside, said Chief of the Office Mahendra Bahadur Godar. The Pokhara Sub-metropolis started the campaign for conserving the lake after the second biggest lake of the country began to shrink every year as huts and others structures were constructed by encroaching the lakeside. The lake area has shrunk to 9,956 ropani from its original 12,709 ropani.
