Mr. Binod Chaudhary is a Nepalese businessman, industrialist and philanthropist. He is the first Nepalese to be listed in Forbes magazine as Nepal’s first billionaire. Born on 14th April 1955, he is the chairman of Chaudhary Group and CG Corp Global, a conglomerate that comprises 112 companies and 76 brands across the world. Chaudhary Group’s product Wai Wai noodles are the most successful product that produces more than a billion packets annually and expanded over 35 countries. He has also a massive investment in other sectors like banking, cement, real state, hotels, electronics and home appliances, education, energy, retail etc. Chaudhary group is the first company to be awarded the International Asia Award.
Mr. Chaudhary helped his father from a very younger age to convert his modest departmental store into Nepal’s one of the biggest conglomerates. Today Chaudhary Group has over 100 Companies under its umbrella and an investment outlay of over $1Billion. Being the first Nepalese organization to have a distribution network spanning the subcontinent, it has made substantial presence in South Asia’s fiercely competitive Food and Beverages market.
He has established a Chaudhary foundation which makes extensive contributions in the fields of schooling, health, sports and children empowerment also providing scholarships to the needy and additionally takes projects in developing the education system, and socio-monetary conditions of Nepal. He also worked as a member of constituent assembly and parliament of Nepal from April 2008 to May 2012.
