A Walk to Nagdaha Successfully Conducted

Kathmandu, February 4, 2019: On the occasion of World Wetland Day 2019, Nepalese Youth for Climate Action together with Clean Energy Nepal organized Walk to Nagdaha on 2nd February with the theme of wetland day “Wetlands and Climate Change”. Enthusiastic 72 youth from different institutional background were present in the Walk. The objective of the program was to aware the youth about importance of the wetlands and climate change which is worsening day by day. Ms. Mangleswori Dhonju (Program Coordinator-Clean Energy Nepal) shared her expertise on the wetlands and climate change among the youth. She also mentioned that how wetlands play pivotal role in absorbing carbon from the atmosphere. Mr. Salam Moktan (Residence of Nagdaha) shared his experience and brief history of Nagdaha and status of ongoing construction. The floor was open for the discussion one of the active participants Mr. Rajendra Bam also shared his learning among the youth as the student from ecological background.

Program ended with visit to Nagdaha and NYCA assign the participants to capture Nagdaha on their camera reflecting either positive initiation for conservation or negative impacts on wetlands. The winner photo will be awarded.
