Gaushala,13 Nov 2014: The Mahottari District Court has remanded Pramod Chaudhary, one the accused in the bank robbery case here, to police custody for further investigation into the case.
A masked gang of dacoits looted Rs five million of Gaushala-based Sahayogi Development Bank on June 12, 2013. The gang looted a car (Na 2 Cha 2622) used to transport the bank amount to Gaushala from the Janakpur branch. The crime took place at Gaushala-6.
The 36 year-old Chaurdhary is a resident of Phulkaha VDC-6 and has been sent to Jaleshwor prison. A police squad from the District Police Office Mahottari arrested Chaudhary and presented him before the District Court, according to Superintendent of Police Shaurav Rana.
Others three accused in the looting are already in the custody of police. Police have launched a manhunt for others involved in the banking crime, it is learnt.
