Ilam, June 24, 2015: An initiated action has been taken against 19 traders who have been evading tax by the taxpayers’ service office in Ilam.
Taxpayers office said that after the traders failed to pay the due tax even after repeated verbal and written notice the necessary action has been recommended against the traders.The recommendation for action has been made to the Inland Revenue Office in Bhadrapur, Jhapa.
According to Chief of the Office Anmol Dahal,the office in Ilam is to recover more than Rs. 15 million from 150 traders in the district. He added that the traders having dues above Rs. 300,000 will have their property, bank accounts and transaction sealed for due action.
Total of 5,290 tax payers have been registered under PAN including 381 in VAT in Ilam and the majority of the tax defaulters include contractors in the district.
