Bhimduttanagar, Aug. 4: The government has come up with additional relief package for Mahakali flood victims in Darchula.
The government took the decision considering the family members, who saw complete devastation of their house and land in the Mahakali river-triggered flood in district headquarters, Khalanga.
According to the decision, compensation worth Rs 500,000 will be provided to each family who lost property worth Rs 5 millions in the disaster. Likewise, the government has sent a letter to District Administration Office regarding compensation of Rs 700,000 each to the families who lost their property ranging Rs 5 -10 million and compensation of Rs 1 million each to the victims whose property worth more than Rs 10 million was devastated in the flood.
The letter issued by the Disaster Management Section under the Home Ministry made it clear that the flood victims receiving such additional relief should not have possessed land in any part of the country, said the District Administration Office.
