Kathmandu, July 13, 2016:Â The Bhanu Foundation organized a program at Nepal Academy here today in commemoration of contribution made by the first poet of Nepal, Bhanubhakta Acharya, for the development of Nepali language.
During the event held to mark Bhanubhakta’s 203rd birth anniversary, various scholars, artistes and authorities, including the Chief of Army Staff Rajendra Chhetri, garlanded and offered flowers at the statue of Adikavi Bhanubhakta on the premises of the Academy.
Also, Prof Dr Basudev Tripathi and film director Yadav Kharel were honored in recognition of their contribution to Nepali language and literature.
The Chancellor of Nepal Academy Ganga Prasad Uprety discussed the contributions made by Bhanubhakta.
On the occasion, a rally was organized this morning where Annapurna Higher Secondary School, Saraswati Higher Secondary School at Chettrapati and Internship International at Kamaladi were awarded for standing first, second and third respectively in the rally.
