Kathmandu,25 Nov 2014: President of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, has arrived here at 11 this morning to participate in the 18th SAARC summit going to be held from November 26 to 27.
Chief Protocol Officer Kali Prasad Pokhrel welcomed President of Afghanistan, Ghani, at Tribhuvan International Airport.
Similarly, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Prakash Man Singh, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Deepak Chandra Amatya, Chief Secretary Leelamani Poudyal, Basanta Kumar Gautam, the Chief Personal Secretary of Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, and Secretary at the Office of the President, Anup Kumar Upadhyay, welcomed the Afghan President and the delegation members at the podium, constructed to welcome the dignitaries.
On the occasion, the Nepal Army played a Mangal Dhun (auspicious tune) in honour of President Ghani. After that, the national anthems of both countries were played. President Ghani has arrived here leading Afghanstan’s delegation to the SAARC Summit.
