Rautahat, Sept 9: Former Chairman of the Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) and Tharu leader Raj Kumar Lekhi has said that the country is being pushed into the conflict due to the stance of three major political parties.

At a news conference organised at Chandranigahapur today, Lekhi said that the new constitution to be issued by depriving Tharu, Dalits, indigenous nationalities and Muslims of their rights would not be acceptable.

Stating that the ongoing agitations of the dissenting forces could be withdrawn if the demands of inclusion, federalism, proportional representation and secularism were addressed, he added that an environment conducive would be created if injured people in the agitations were provided free treatment and the arrested cadres were released as well as the Nepal Army personnel deployed at different places were pulled back.

Likewise, lawmaker Janak Chaudhary and former lawmaker Govinda Chaudhary, among other Tharu leaders were present on the occasion.
