(Jhapa)Aug. 9: Senior journalist Madan Dhakal was honored with Dikman Birahi Memorial Journalism Award instituted in Jhapa this friday. The award was presented to Dhakal on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the ANIJ and 20th World Indigenous Nationalities Day. Felicitated journalist Dhakal is an editor-in-chief of Purbanchal Daily – a local dialect published from Jhapa.
The award set up by the Association of Nepalese Indigenous Nationalities Journalists (ANIJ), Jhapa chapter carries a purse of Rs 13,515. ANIJ Eastern Region Coordinator Bhairab Angla felicitated journalist Dhakal with cash prize, shawl and letter of appreciation, amid a function organized here on Friday.
Similarly, the ANIJ journalists Sujan Pradhan of Meromechinagar Online and Angela Subba of Saptarangi FM were honored with the emerging journalism awards.
