Glocal Sports learnt from a close source that Anil Gurung will be the Captain for Nepal National Football Team in the upcoming SAFF Suzuki Cup. The regular captain of Nepali team, Sagar Thapa is currently under suspension due to their involvement in match fixing along with Vice captain Sandip Rai, Ritesh Thapa, Bikash Singh Chhetri and Anjan KC.
Though the official announcement of the captain is not given yet but will be announced soon.
Anil Gurung is currently the captain of Manang Marsyangdi Club and is one of the most experienced player in the team. Similarly, he has also scored 9 international goals.
Similarly, in the recent news it is also learned that Anil Gurung voted for Balloon D’or as only a coach, a captain and a selected journalist can vote for the award. Therefore, it is about sure that Anil Gurung will be the new captain for Nepalese team as he voted in Ballon D’or award as a Nepalese captain.
