Kathmandu: Vlogging, a combination of video blogging, involves posting to platforms like YouTube. It has been very popular among young people in recent years. The popularity of independent young video bloggers, the “vloggers” who film their thoughts and observations for thousands of followers to enjoy online, is already setting the future shape of marketing and advertising. But it is also becoming an important route into traditional careers in print publishing or television.
Within this, the new reality TV show ‘World Vlog Challenge‘ is likely to be broadcast from August 2020. The show brings together vloggers and influencers from around the world as vloggers are the great storytellers and a major source of information for the young generation. It will take these challenges to the ‘Khumbu Glacier’. The crew member shared that the ultimate objective of this adventure is to experience the formation of rivers and tell the story of the Himalayas to the younger generation.
The event is being sponsored by Party Nepal and the Chairman at Party Nepal who is also the Project Chief, Mr.Shree Gurung shared that the show like this is a need for informing the younger generation, who seems completely disconnected with the information about the Himalayas and beautiful stories they hold.
Twelve social media sensations from different parts of the world will come together to raise awareness about the impact of global warming in the Himalayan glaciers through a shared journey in this show. By now the names of only eight of the influencers taking part in this show have been disclosed. It includes YouTube vloggers and social media influencers from a variety of fields from different corners of the world. They are YouTube vlogger JeetSelal and actress AahanaKumra from India, vloggers Steele Davis and Kraig Adams from the USA, Juanes Velez from Colombia, Alex Tienda from Mexico and two beauty pageant titleholders from Nepal, Anuska Shrestha – Miss Nepal World 2019 and Niti Shah – Miss Nepal International 2017. The expedition will be guided by multiple mountaineering world record holder NirmalPurja and other notable legendary mountaineers including Mingma David Sherpa.
Just like any other reality show, the challenge will be won by one of the participants based on his/her performance in different activities that the participants have to be part of every day in the journey.
The reality show is scheduled to be broadcasted from August which will comprise a total 15 episodes, depicting the journey towards Khumbu Glacier. The show will also attempt to make the world record for the ‘Highest altitude vloggers/influencers conference on land’ and the ‘Highest Altitude Podcast on Land’.
