Ilam, September 23, 2015: In the district of Ilam, the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) branch office has decided to initiate special campaigns in the district to lessen electricity leakage.
Identifying the customers and taking actions against those involved in hooking and electricity theft, and others are included in the campaign.
The occurrence of electricity theft have increased in Ilam. By keeping electric sub-meters and using other technologies due to lack of transformers, actions will be pledged to those involved in the wrongdoings, Chief of NEA Ilam branch, Sitaram Sigdel said.
In the fiscal year 2071/072 BS, according to the Office, the district suffered 24.35 per cent electricity leakage.
At the same time, for electrification programme, Rs 31 million has been allocated in Ilam, Panchthar and Taplejung districts in the current fiscal year.
