Kathmandu,8 March 2015: The Armed Police Force (APF) has clinched the one-day cricket match played in the capital city on Sunday.
In the opening match played at TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, the APF defeated Area No 3 Kathmandu by 64 runs.
Invited to bat first after winning the toss, the APF lost all wickets in 47.4 overs, accumulating 217 runs in all. In response, Area No 3 Kathmandu made 153 runs with the loss of all wickets at 44.4 overs.
For the victory, APF’s Dipendra Chaudhari secured 52 runs- the maximum, while Subash Khakurel made 25, Gyanendra Malla 23 and Arif Sheikh 22.
Similarly, Sanjam Regmi comfortably took four wickets. He was declared man of the match.
In the opposition team, Adil Khan made 38 runs while Bhupendra Thapa Chhetri and Sudip Sharma 25 each.
The Tribhuvan Army Club will play against Area No 1 Biratnagar at TU ground, while Area No 2 of Birgunj and Area No 5 Nepalgunj play at Pulchowk tomorrow.
