Application Open for the Second Entrepreneurship Boot Camp

August 16, 2015: Application for the second Entrepreneurship Boot Camp opens today.

Following its vision of empowering positive business thinking and the entrepreneurial mindset, Nepalese Young Entrepreneurs’ Forum (NYEF), in association with U.S. Embassy Nepal, is organizing the Second Entrepreneurship Boot Camp in September 21-23, 2015at Gokarna Forest Resort, Kathmandu.

The first boot camp was a big success where30 participants from diverse background, most of whom were from outside the valley, were encouraged to think outside the box to work on their ideas, all the while being constantly made to think about the idea’s feasibility and scalability. The winners of the first boot camp also participated in a two weeks long pre-incubation program and many have already started their business or are in the process of starting one.

With the theme of “Unleash your ideas”, this iteration of bootcamp will target people with a strong, demonstrable interest in starting, or being involved in, the creation of a new business. With a mission to open the platform of entrepreneurship and business to all professional arenas, this 3-day residential program will proceed with 30 applicants after a holistic review of their application and business idea.

The boot camp will provide participants invaluableknowledge and experience in pursuing entrepreneurship. During the event, the teams will have intensive sessions on enhancing their understanding on starting a business, completing and presenting the business model canvas, with a particular emphasis ondesign thinking process and financial planning. The teams will also be assigned mentors to help them in formulating and creating a strong business plan.

The program also aims to invite several established entrepreneurs and business leaders to provide inspiration and insights about idea, business strength and sustainability to the participants. All the participants will get an opportunity to be a part of the vibrant community of aspiring entrepreneurs. This community will be a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to connect with seasoned entrepreneurs and experts.

Winning ideas will also get access to the pool of mentors at NYEF as well as an opportunity to further work on their idea through NYEF’s Business Pre-Incubation program.This time there is also prizes worth one lakh rupees to the winners.

NYEF also expects to constantly follow-up with the participants and their business ideas in an attempt to maintain a close-knit community and a healthy ecosystem of aspiring entrepreneurs.

Ajay Shrestha, Chair, Entrepreneurship Boot Camp added, “This boot camp is for youths who want to solve existing problems in the market through entrepreneurship. We will help them refine their ideas, provide startup space, connect with mentors and potential investors. We will help aspiring entrepreneurs put their ideas to action.

NYEF has always advocated for entrepreneurship and positive business thinking, and this bootcamp is one of the several programs that are organized to disseminate NYEF’s vision and mission to support the process of nurturing and growth of young entrepreneurs in Nepal.
