ARC conducts ‘Free Robotics Workshop’ to students

Students avail opportunity to get familiar with technologies

Kathmandu, February 28, 2017: To impart technical knowledge to the students, Automation Research Centre Pvt. Ltd. (ARC) has conducted 2-days-long ‘Free Robotics Workshop’ at Samata Sikshya Niketan, Gwarko, Lalitpur. The workshop, conducted on a regular basis with the slogan “Learn.Make.Innovate”, seeks to initiate and promote a movement in Nepal to integrate practical knowledge in the school curriculum.

The latest workshop briefly covered the information about the current technologies and that of the future. The main emphasis was given on building critical thinking capabilities, practical based knowledge, and providing a basic insight on electronics system as a whole.

The workshop was divided into three segments: Learn, Make, and Innovate. In the first segment, students were introduced with the principles, circuit diagrams and basic programs of models like Automatic Light, Line Follower Robot, Fire Alarm, Obstacle Detector Robot, Arduino. The second segment included allowing the students to get hands-on experience with the models taught and allowing to Make them in real. Problems were given to the students, and they had to find a solution for it based on the knowledge gained, in the third segment.  A total of 30 students from the classes 8 and 9 participated in the ten-hour-long workshop.

ARC has further decided to conduct at least one Free Workshop every month.

A startup based in Lalitpur, ARC was established with a sole purpose of introducing technical innovation in Nepal. In the early phase, it is performing the function to equip students with technical knowledge and to familiarize them with current technologies. It is aiming to be a one-step destination for any technology related needs in Nepal.
