Kathmandu,28 Jan 2015: Nepal Fine Arts Academy has honored different artists for their contributions to the development of the arts.Organising a programme on Wednesday, the Academy honoured senior artist Madan Chitrakar and artists– Ale Lama, Pancharatna Dangol, Lok Chitrakar, Karma Chhiring Lama and Purnakaji Shakya.
Honouring the artists, Vice-Chancellor of the Academy, Ragini Upadhyay, said that the Nepali art was being famous in the international arena due to specialty in style.
She believed that development of art could contribute to the identity and economic progress of the country.
Similarly, Member-Secretary of the Academy, Navaraj Bhatta, stressed the need of protecting original art, as it is linked with the study of different phases of human civilization.
The honoured artists said that all artists should be united for the progress of the art sector.
