Aryan, Namrata bag top honours

Pokhara, August 16, 2016: Aryan Sigdel and Namrata Shrestha won awards for Best Actor and Best Actress during the eighth D Cine Awards held in Pokhara over the weekend. The film Classic which featured the actor duo bagged the award for Best Film; while Surendra Poudel and Yubraj Chaulagain won awards for Best Editor and Best Singer, respectively, for the same film.

The blockbuster Pashupati Prasad, another big winner on the night, bagged three major awards—Dipendra K Khanal for Best Director, Khagendra Lamichhane for Best Script, and Bipin Karki for Best Performance in a Negative Role. The movie also walked away with the Most Popular Award.

Likewise, Deepak Raj Giri won the Best Dialogue award for Wada No 6. Also winning awards from the comedy were Jitu Nepal, for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Kedar Ghimire, for Best Comedian, and Asheel Karki, for Best Score.

Similarly, winning awards under several categories were Maotse Gurung, Paul Shah, Samragy Rajya Laxmi Shah, Anju Pant, Dr Krishna Hari Baral, Priyanka Karki, Arjun Pokharel, Keki Adhikari and Saugat Malla. The awards were presented under 26 different categories. The ceremony also honoured actor Karishma Manandhar, director Chhabi Ojha, and journalist Naresh Bhattarai.
