Rupandehi, April 26: Nepal has got it’s first automatic sanitizer tunnel at Rupandehi. The tunnel started experimentally and has the mechanism to spray and kill the germs.
Mr. Lov Panthi (Finalist of Glocal Teen Hero – Nepal, 2019) along with his brother Kush Panthi , has invented an “Automatic Sanitizer Tunnel” to disinfect the harmful microbes.
It is fitted with the automatic sensors which would detect motion on vehicles or people while entering the highway gate. When the sensor is connected to the passive infrared center (PIR), it can detect itself and open the 1 HP motors and sprays the vehicle with sanitizer through 12 nozzles. As soon as the motion is detected automatic sanitizer is sprayed on the vehicle for 10 seconds from 12 nozzles connected at the entrance.
The station has been set up at the entrance of Tilottama municipality to sanitize vehicles and prevent coronavirus infection. Station was constructed and designed by Mr. Deepak Pandey (Engineer of Drinking Water Institute) and Mr. Sunil Gautam (Technical Assistant).
It is estimated that; washing hands and using sanitizer can reduce COVID – 19 infection but vehicles also might carry the virus while moving about and meeting people. So, to kill the germs and prevent infection in vehicles too, we have constructed the sanitizing station said Mr. Hari Tiwari (President of Drinking Water and Sanitation consumers).
The station was inaugurated by Mr. Basudev Ghimire (Mayor of the Tilottama Municipality) and mentioned that the next station would also be constructed at Omsatiya with his own investment.
