Bangladesh, 27 October 2014, Bangladesh wins their first test match by 3 wickets against Zimbabwe in three match series.

A 101 runs small chase for Bangladesh but they started the score read 0 for 3 and finally Team achieved victory with 7 wickets lost on the third day of the Test.

Shakib Al Hasan’s magical bowling 6/59 display on the first day Zimbabwe’s only managed 240 in their first innings.

There is no way one can take away the achievement of Zimbabwe pacer Tinashe Panyangara, who claimed his maiden five-for, but it was the poor batting from the home side which ensured that Bangladesh could manage only a 14-run first innings lead. Bangladesh team only managed 254 by three fifties by Mushfiqur 64, Mahmudullah 63, Mominul 53.

In second innings Zimbabwe collapsed only for 114 by Taijul Islam’s brilliant bowling 8/39. Bangladesh got the easy target 101 runs but top order batsmen make its hard.

Zimbabwe’s captain Brendan Taylor has blamed their poor batting performance. He said after the match “We have been saying 150 would have been very interesting, But at the end of the day, we batted badly and did not deserve to win the game”

Zimbabwe came in to the series as underdogs and played hard, but they will still go to the Khulna Test trailing 0-1.
