Gorkha, August 16, 2016: Dozens of landslides that occurred recently have obstructed the Barpak road in Gorkha district for the past one and half months.

With the disruption of road, passengers are compelled to walk through long distance to reach their destinations.

Residents of Barpak locals have voiced their complaint over the delay in the post-earthquake reconstruction work which they said have troubled their day-to-day life.

The obstruction of road has made it difficult for them to bring hardware and other materials for new construction.

Landslides have blocked roads from Baluwa to Gumda via Barpak and Laprak.

“Roads are covered with landslide debris,” said Rajendra Gurung, an employee of the Road Project Office.

Project Office Chief Prem Prakash Khatry said preparation was underway to clear the debris and resume vehicular movement.

The vehicular movement has been disrupted in 32 rural roads across the district including Barpak.
