Bharatpur Municipality set to become Child Friendly by 2075

Bharatpur, 24 December, 2017: Bharatpur Municipality in coalition with UNICEF Nepal, has organized a program to announce Bharatpur Municipality as ‘child-friendly’ by the year 2075 B.S.

The head of Social Branch Bharatpur, Tulsi Prasad Shrestha, informed about the two-day event (Poush 6 to Poush 7) to discuss the strategies for making the child-friendly atmosphere in Bharatpur.

A draft of this discussion was presented in the event and the final discussion of this draft is to be held in the next municipal meeting. If the discussion ends in a positive note, the draft will be released as the official plan of the municipality.

The first day of the event conversed about the child-friendly society whereas the second day ended with the discussion of child security policies by the concerned authorities of Bharatpur.

This program has proposed a three-year plan to formulate responsibilities and work plans for the main target of creating a child-friendly atmosphere in Bharatpur municipality.

Parvati Shahi Thakuri, Deputy Mayor of Biratnagar, was the chief guest of the conference. Various ward representatives, members of the municipal council government as well as non-government officials attended the meeting.
