Bill for Right to Employment Unanimously Approved by HoR

Kathmandu, September 5, 2018: The proposal for the deliberation on the bill on ‘Right to Employment’ has been unanimously approved in a meeting of the House of Representatives.

The proposal was unanimously approved by the meeting which was tabled by Gokarna Bista, Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security. He mentioned, “The government arranged the legal provision to ensure the employment of capable and qualified youths.” The emphasis of the lawmakers is on job creation in the country and the insured environment to attract investment in industries, energy and another sector to create jobs. Bista shared, “Effectiveness of monitoring the foreign works in Nepal without the labour permit will also be enhanced and streamlined foreign employment will be made more effective.”

Government is planning to set up Local level Employment Service Centers. The provision of the allowance for the unemployment will also be the established in case of not being able to provide employment. Minister shared, “The fundamental right to employment will be implemented by providing 100 days of employment if the government is unable to provide long-term jobs.”
