Blood Donation program Successfully conducted by Rotaract Club of Patan

Kathmandu, March 17, 2019: Rotaract Club of Patan jointly with Rotary Club of Patan organized Annual Blood Donation Camp at Patan Durbar Square on March 16, 2019.

With support from Nepal Red Cross Society Lalitpur the camp successfully collected 53 pints blood. The camp was also supported by National Nepal Polio Plus Committee and Inner Wheel of Rotary Club of Patan. With a great start to the camp, it was seen busy since the starting at 9:30 A.M. With the visitors from different Rotaract and rotary clubs, the camp was attended by almost 80 people. There were also visitors who were active donors and were very enthusiastic about donating blood.

 

The camp was also visited by Dr. Jagadish Vaidhya who has donated blood for 111 times till date. He is an active donor, volunteer and also the father of Bagmati cleanup campaign. The participants and winners of Mr. and Ms. Rotaract Season 2 also made a visit to the camp and some of them donated blood as well.

Rotaract Club of Patan has been organizing blood donation camp annually jointly with RotaryClub of Patan with support from Nepal Red Cross Society. President of Rotaract Club of Patan said, “Blood scarcity is one of the major problems in the medical sector of Nepal. People have to wait for hours to find the blood group they’re looking for. We organize this camp every year to contribute a little drop of solution to this problem. This camp is organized annually on the occasion of World Rotaract Week to mark the birth of Rotaract.”
