Book Festival commences in capital


Kathmandu, Sept 12: The National Book Exhibition and Literary Journey Festival-2071 BS kicked off from today at the Bhrikutimandap in the capital with an aim to develop reading habit among the people.

In the Festival, thousands of books of different genre and subjects as education, culture, agriculture, technology, health, science, economy, politics, lifestyle, yoga and Kamasutra published in different times have been put on display and sale.

Books from a slew of publications as Insight, Vava, Dikura, Dolphin, Pyramid, Pairavi, Himalaya, Vani, Airabati, Sajha, Saugaat, Shangrila, SP, Pathik, Panch Pokhari, Bin, Phoenix, Jhilko, Sabdartha, Bibek Sirjanshil are on exhibition.

Amburi Book Point and Ghost Writing Nepal have jointly organized the exhibition.

On the occasion, Culture Expert Satyamohan Joishi released Ramesh Bikal’s book ‘Kathadekhi Kathasamma’ and journalist and senior novelist Bijaya Chalise’s ‘Bigyanko Kaidi’.

The book exhibition inaugurated by Nepal Academy Chancellor Dr Ganga Prasad Upreti will run until September 20.

According to the organizers, everyday a book will be released during the festival. RSS
