Books and educational materials distributed to village school students


Pokhara, February 25, 2017: The students of Srijana Higher Secondary School of Pokhara today distributed educational and extra materials to the students of Shahid Smarak Primary School located in Phedikhola, Syangja. Twenty-seven students each were provided with school bags, half a dozen of copies, geometry boxes, handkerchiefs, nail cutter, etc. The material cost (Rs. 71, 000) was covered by the financial contribution made by the Plus-Two students of Srijana Secondary School, Pokhara. Also, the American Corner Library of Mahendra Pul donated books for the school library.

For the distribution of the materials, twenty-four students, and four teachers and office staffs had traveled to Syanja early this morning to reach the school. The visiting students also interacted with the primary school students by playing with them and taking photographs.

The Chief Guest of the program Mr. Puspa Raj, Vice President of PABSON, thanked the college students for their kind donation. “I am sure that because of your generous efforts, the students are inspired to study in a better way. And, I hope these type of inspirational events will take place again,” he said on the occasion. Similarly, Mr. Dolraj Pandey, the Principal of Srijana HSS expressed his pride for the students’ exemplary work.

The programme also saw the presence of school teachers, parents and guardians of the Shahid Smarak School, and some social workers from Phedikhola.

At the end of the programme, snacks were distributed to all the participants brought from Pokhara by the visiting students.
