Bootcamp concludes with new opportunities for aspiring young entrepreneurs


Kathmandu, 20 August 2017: A fully funded 4 days-long residential business bootcamp for high school and bachelor students has concluded on September 20, 2017, at Club Himalaya, Nagarkot. A total of 14 ideas participated the boot camp, among which 4 ideas were selected for further processes.

Mr. Arun Chaudhary, Managing Director of CG Holdings joined the bootcamp as a key note speaker on the first day whereas Mr. Saurabh Jyoti, Director of Jyoti Group, and Mr. Mithlesh Kumar Jha, General Manager of CG Holdings joined as guest speakers on the following days respectively.

A social entrepreneur, Mr. Hempal Shrestha and Mr. Anjan Kumar Dahal, corporate and FDI lawyer provided mentorships to these ideas. Moreover, the participants were trained on brainstorming, writing business ideas, pitching, presenting ideas along with the guest speaker and mentorship session with the essence of leadership and personal development.

Towards the end of the program, four diverse and equally innovative ideas were selected for further processes. Himalayan Sanitary Napkins, one of the ideas, seeks to produce low-cost sanitary pads in Nepal which is affordable to women of rural areas. Similarly, Bars Prefab Panel will be producing low-cost prefab panels as an alternative of bricks in urban and rural areas of Nepal. Likewise, Express-‘Come Hungry, Leave Happy’, is a mobile fast food chain providing clean and healthy fast food to local people and tourists, whereas, Avo-Gon is a social enterprise based on the production of avocado and dragon fruit by integrating marginalized farmers.

These startup ideas will go through further incubation and will be funded by CG Holdings, the angel investment of Mr. Arun Chaudhary.

The program was designed by Glocal After School (GAS), a venture of Glocal Pvt. Ltd., that aims to make skillful human resource by bridging the gap between industries and academia through soft skill training programs to students and corporate.
