Brave Indian Acid Attack Survivor Reshma Bano Qureshi Walks The Ramp At New York Fashion Week

September 9, 2016: Reshma Bano Qureshi’s confidence was infectious while she walked the ramp in New York Fashion Week on Thursday. The 19-year-old Indian acid attack survivor looked every bit as beautiful as any other supermodel.

Reshma, who had never left India before, looked exuberant as she opened FTL Moda’s runway show. Dressed in a long-sleeved white gown with colourful panels designed by Archana Kochhar, she looked nothing less than a princess by topping her ensemble with a tiara.

It was two years ago when Reshma was viciously attacked by her brother-in-law and his comrades. The attack, that left her face partially disfigured, didn’t stop Reshma from advocating for other survivors. She associated herself with the Make Love Not Scars initiative to protest against the unbridled sale of acids in drug stores.

Reshma had learned about her stint in this candid video, where she broke down into happy tears after FTL Moda told her that she will walk the ramp in one of the biggest fashion shows in the world!

Reshma was a total diva not only on the stage but behind the curtains as well. She even posed with Sunny Leone backstage.

More power to you, Reshma! Now and always.
