BRIDGE OVER SEUTI RIVER COMES INTO OPERATION

Itahari, Oct 10: The concrete bridge linking Itahari to Dharan over the Seuti river has come into operation.

The broken-down old and narrow bridge was replaced by the new bridge before the Koshi Highway was constructed.  The Seuti river runs through the Charkose jungle area in between Itahari and Dharan.

The total cost of Rs. 60 million completed the new bridge and it took nearly five years to be completed.

The construction of the Seuti river bridge has come to the great relief to the travelers and the local people. The people were always concerned about the risk involving the broken down condition of the old bridge.

Mohan Dhakal who was travelling towards Itahari from Dharan said that the new bridge had become inevitable and it was a matter of happiness that the new bridge has come into full operation.   “The new bridge had become inevitable and it is a matter of happiness that it has now come into full operation”, said Mohan Dhakal, who was heading towards Itahari from Dharan.

The roadway passing through the Seuti river bridge is used by a large number of vehicles leaving for the Hilly districts via Dharan apart from serving as a link road between Itahari and Dharan.

As a result, the new bridge is expected to benefit a large number of travelers by ensuring smooth voyage towards their destination.
