Britannia to set up Rs.1 Billion Factory in Nepal

Kathmandu, August 15, 2018: Britannia Industry Ltd. released an announcement of setting up a biscuit production factory worth 1 billion in Nepal within 18 months.

Vice president of Indian food processing company Britannia, Anindya Dutta mentioned that the company aims to plan the establishment of the production plant in Birgunj. This day marked the launch of the plant in a function that was held in Kathmandu. A new television commercial of flagship product Good Day was also launched.  “Nepal government has already approved the establishment of the factory within 18 months. The setup will increase in the exchange market share in the biscuit market of Nepal which is currently 20%. 80% of factory production of the Britannia food products available in Nepal will be in Nepal.” Dutta said.  He claimed that in Nepal, Britannia is already a household name in about a decade. The large portion of the investment will be on branding and network enhancement with priority.

The company is willing to invest in Nepal to make Britannia the largest food brand in Nepal. Concluding, Dutta shared that Britannia will soon introduce its other products like bread, cakes and dairy products in Nepal.
