Pokhara, 25 March, 2015 :Â Finance Minister Dr Ram Sharan Mahat has said arrangements would be made in the next fiscal year’s budget to allocate over Rs 11 billion in agriculture production programmes for increasing job opportunities for the youth in the agriculture sector.
Addressing a programme of the Small Farmers Agricultural Cooperative Limited at Salyan VDC in Kaski district today, he urged the commercial banks to invest in the agriculture production sector at six per cent interest rate.
The government has already issued circulars to the commercial banks to this effect and action would be taken against any bank flouting this directive, the Finance Minister cautioned.
Chairman of the Cooperatives Padma Poudel presided over the programme.
