No power outage in KTM during SAARC Summit

Kathmandu, Nov 19: Minister for Energy, Radha Gyawali, has said there would be no power outage at the main areas during the upcoming 18th SAARC Summit.

At an interaction organised here today, Minister Gyawali said there would be no load shedding at Kathmandu and the other main places, where the Heads of State and Governments of different countries are scheduled to visit during the SAARC Summit, including Kathmandu, Janakpur, Lumbini and Muktinath.

The Energy Minister said discussion would be held mainly on three important issues in the Summit and ‘SAARC Framework for Energy Cooperation Agreement’ is one of the main issues.

She further said the work on the Upper Karnali project would also be taken ahead along with the PDA of the Arun III project.

Minister Gyawali urged the leaders of political parties to guide the country towards the path of economic and social progress by issuing the new constitution on the slated time.

She said the government was engaged to create employment by developing power and harnessing different resources of the country.
