Dhangadhi, 10 March, 2015Â : The Small Farmers Cooperative, Kailali, has invested Rs 1.20 billion in loans to make the local women self-employed through microfinance programme.
Manager at the Cooperative, Dammar Bahadur Shah, said that of the amount invested as loan, Rs 850 million has been recovered so far.
Some 24,000 women of the poor community are benefitted from the loan investment through 10 branches in the district. The Cooperative has run the microfinance programme since 2064 BS targeting the poor women.
Dilrani Chaudhary of Bhajani Trishakti Municipality-7 said that they have invested the collateral-free loan amount provided by the Cooperative in vegetable cultivation, poultry keeping, among others.
