Tribhuvan University Passes its Budget

Kathmandu, September 20, 2018: The General Meeting of Tribhuvan University has passed the budget of Rs. 21 billion 108 million and 13 thousands for the duration of 2075/76. The 11 billion 317 million and 385 thousand of the budget shall be granted by the government whereas the rest of 9 billion 710 million 628 thousand is planned to be collected from the internal sources.

The meeting took place on Tuesday where the Prime Minister and the Chancellor, KP Oli Sharma signified the importance of generating capable skilled human resources to march the country in the path of prosperity. He also suggested TU to determine the plans and policies as per the resources available in the nation. Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Girirajmani Pokherel stated, “The graduates of the university should not only be outstanding but should also be as per the need of the country.”

The Vice-Chancellor of TU, Prof. Dr. Tirtha Raj Khaniya said, “TU is striving to generate the essential manpower, is attempting to preserve and promote national culture and is also seeking the establishment of knowledge and research of art, science, technology and business sector for a comprehensive and timely basis.” The meeting has approved the name of Prof. Dr. Mohan Prasad Panthi of the Central Department of Botany and Prof. Krishna Prasad Gautam, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Education as the member of the Executive Council.
