Kathmandu, Jan 23: The Constituent Assembly (CA) meeting that began three hours later that the scheduled time on Friday has been postponed till 1:00 pm Sunday, following disruption by the UCPN (Maoist)-led alliance.
The CA meeting was supposed to table a proposal on committee formation for developing questionnaire on the disputed issues of the new constitution. The task of committee formation has not moved ahead after the opposition parties’ obstruction since Tuesday.
As per the CA business, NC chip whip Chinkaji Shrestha would table the proposal while UML chief whip Agni Kharel would second the proposal.
At the meeting today, CA Chairman Subash Nembang urged NC chip whip Shrestha to table the proposal amid the sloganeering of the opposition lawmakers.
