Kathmandu, February 9, 2017: Stakeholders have demanded for disabled-friendly structures in schools, government offices, roads and other locations in the society.

Inaugurating the disability-friendly information and resource center established by the Nepal Disabled Human Rights Center (DHRC) in Gongobu on Wednesday, artist duo Madan Krishna Shrestha and Haribansa Acharya called for equal access and participation of people with disabilities in every structure of the state.

Under-secretary at the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Dorendra Niroula said the Ministry has been giving special importance to the disability sector and would continue to give priority in the days ahead.

The DHRC was founded in 2000 by a group of young people with disabilities who first raised the issue of disability human rights and public interest litigation in Nepal.
