Kathmandu, November 17: Tribhuvan University (TU) has come up with a unique opportunity for students to participate in one of the world’s largest competitions, HULT Prize challenge.

HULT Prize is a global initiative, a startup accelerator for young social entrepreneurs emerging from different universities around the world. The HULT Prize aims to launch a start-up enterprise that can fundamentally change the world. It is a platform for launching for-profit startups and bringing young social entrepreneurs together and has been funded by the HULT family since its inception in 2009. In partnership with the United Nations, the HULT Prize is hosting college and university events across the globe in search of the next changing start-up. The program allows more students to compete around the world, leading to more ideas and ultimately more startups.

The HULT Prize is the world’s largest student competition and start-up platform for social good. Every year student teams compete around the world for a chance to secure US $ 1 million start-up idea that provides the best solution to the world’s challenges.

The 2020 HULT Prize Challenge as announced by President Bill Clinton at the United Nations is “Building Startups That Have A Positive Impact On Our Planet with Every Dollar Earned.”

The winning team from the HULT Prize at TU, IOST Final Event will be fast-tracked to compete at one of the HULT Prize Regional Finals around the world, bypassing the general application which annually receives over 50,000 applicants from more than 1000 colleges and universities in over 150 countries. The 2020 HULT prize will focus on empowering the earth” Bold Business for Better Life.”

The HULT Prize regional competition will take place in March 2020, the winner teams from around the globe compete in 16 regionals all over the world. A final round competition will take place in September 2020 where the top six Finalists from regionals after 8 weeks of mentorship compete for the title at UN whereas one winning team will be selected as the winner and will be awarded the US$ 1,000,000.
