Kathmandu, June 29, 2017: Rashtriya MUN, a wonderful platform for students to gain knowledge on current global issues, is all set to be organized from July 28 – 30 in Kathmandu. Initiated by a group of enthusiastic youths, the program aims to boost the fast-growing MUN culture in Nepal.
MUN (Model United Nations) is an extra-curricular activity in which students role-play delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees. It is like a mini UN conference that bursts with intellectual discussions, entertainment and glory.
The event will feature a total 4 committees leading various agendas concerning the youths.
Bishesh Bajracharya, the Secretary General of Rashtriya MUN, shares “Here at Rashtriya MUN, we feel that being the citizens of Nepal, it is crucial for our youth to focus on the contemporary issues that are happening in and affecting our country and to address them in an international approach. That has been the main motto of the program. And, we are really excited for this event.”
This also makes Rashtriya MUN quite different from other MUNs which mostly revolve their agendas around issues of developed countries.
Gopal Sonthaliya, the Vice-President of Rashtriya MUN, echoed Bajracharya’s thoughts. “All set with innovation and intention, we head out to make this MUN-the most productive one. We are working to make it a remarkable MUN with intellectual discussions and conclusions towards the issues that are clouding the developing nations,” he shared.
Participants can either attend the program as delegates or represent a delegation of 10 students. There is also a provision of generous subsidies and scholarships for those who need it.
The applications for delegates and delegations for Rashtriya Mun 2017 have already opened and can be filled up online through rashtriyamun.wixsite.com/rashtriyamun2017
