Kathmandu, Aug. 26: Constituent Assembly (CA) members representing various fringe parties which are part of the present ruling coalition have demanded ensuring a seat to journalists among the 26 members to be nominated to the CA by the government.
Speaking in a face-to-face programme organised here today, they called for appointing an independent journalist and intellectuals among the 26 members to be nominated to the CA.
President of the Nepal Janata Party and CA member, Hari Narayan Shah, who met with Prime Minister Sushil Koirala today on behalf the small parties, said that they urged the PM to include independent journalist among the 26 CA members still to be nominated.
CA member Ram Kumar Rai said it is unfortunate that the government has still not appointed the 26 CA members nearly eight months since the holding of the CA election.
