Palpa, Feb 24,2015: Tansen municipality has aimed at making itself a fully garbage-free city in coming three years.
Executive Officer at the municipality office, Ram Chandra Lamgade, informed that policy was being executed to change the garbage into money.
For this, as he said, the garbage would be composted by segregating into – decomposable and non decomposable groups. When it is composted, it can be used as fertilizers.
After the decaying and non-decaying things are segregated, the garbage collection is now limited to three tonnes every day. It was earlier six tonnes.
However, there are not sufficient employees at the municipality office to manage the garbage properly.
To make the campaign of reduction and use of garbage successful, the municipality office has launched a weeklong awareness programme reaching every ward. Similarly, interaction programmes were organized and broadcast on radio and television.
