Campaign To Control Wildlife Poaching By ACAP

Mustang, July 6, 2015: A campaign has been launched by Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), Lomanthang to control poaching of wildlife in the area.

Cases of wildlife poaching have reportedly gone up in the area, with six villages in the upper Mustang linked with the road network.

According to  Lomanthang Chief Santosh Sherchan, the first phase of the campaign as organised by the  the ACAP management committee include the interaction programme among committee office bearers, local social workers, security forces and Custom Office representatives in these village with a view creating public awareness on the increasing trend of wildlife poaching.

Further he said, Locals’ awareness can play a significant role in controlling wildlife poaching.
